This singular volume represents a deliberate departure from our traditional hand-milled timber structures, focusing instead on the art of curated restoration. Built around the spirit of 19th-century exploration, this interactive book box transforms Jules Verne’s seminal work into a living piece of mechanical history.
The Exterior Provenance & Steampunk Geometry
The casing features an old-world, deep obsidian-espresso finish, framed by intricate gold-leaf filigree flourishing that mirrors the ornate luxury of Victorian-era private libraries.
To safeguard the volume across its own travels, the corners are fortified with heavy, antiqued brass filigree corner protectors. The baseline is finished with high-density protective felt, ensuring a heavy, silent presence when resting on a collector's study desk or mahogany shelf. The central cover features a beautifully weathered vintage-style print of the iconic hot-air balloon traversing the globe—evoking the precise romance of late-1800s industrial travel.
